Author, playwright and two time Pulitzer Prize winner. His writings included such memorable works as The Bridge of San Luis Rey, Heaven's My Destination, Our Town and The Eighth Day.

    Wilder, Thornton:  The Bridge of San Luis Rey.  Franklin Center: The Franklin Library, 1976. Limited Edition by The Franklin Library. Fine in highly decorated dark brown leather covered boards with gilt text and dark green and gilt decorations stamped between the five raised bands on the spine with gilt and dark green tool work on both boards, gilt edging to the text block and with a sewn-in silk placement ribbon. The corners of the spine and of the boards show a tiny amount of rubbing. Without a dust jacket as issued. A Pulitzer Prize winner for fiction in 1928. 148 pages of text with full color illustrations by William Maughan. With no names, dates, notations or book plates.

Very good- in tan cloth covered boards with black text and red decorations on the spine and with a facsimile of the author's signature on the front board. The front board is tanned at the fore and lower edges and the top edge of the text block is dust stained and there is a prior owner's name and date of "Feb. 1935" on the front end paper. Without a dust jacket. 304 pages of text.

    Wilder, Thornton:  The Long Christmas Dinner & Other Plays in One Act.  New York: Coward-McCann, Inc., 1931. First Edition. Near fine in red cloth covered boards with silver colored text stamping on the spine. A small quarto of 9 3/8 by 6 1/4 inches with the cloth on the spine slightly faded and what appears to be old tape stains on the first and last free end pages which at one time held the dust jacket in place which no longer exists. Without its issued dust jacket. Signed by the author on the title page and dated in the month and year of publication at the University of Chicago. 122 pages of text. A collection of six one act plays.

In a fine dust jacket with the price intact on the front flap. 299 pages including an index, selected bibliography, chapter notes, text and illustrated with a section of black and white photographs. A biography of the author and playwright, Thornton Wilder.
