Near fine in blue cloth covered boards with black text on the spine and with a color printed, paper label on the front boards with no wear of any kind. An octavo of 8 7/8 by 6 1/2 inches. In a very good unclipped dust jacket with a 5 inch long closed tear on the front panel, wear and tiny chipping from the corners of the front panel over the tips of the boards and small shallow chips from the lower edge of the spine area and two tiny closed tears to the upper edge of the spine area and a 1/4 inch closed tear to the lower edge of the rear panel. 226 pages of text. In a very good+ unclipped dust jacket with a 1/3 inch deep closed tear at the upper edge of the front panel at the fold to the front flap and very light rubbing to the upper edge of the spine area. 374 pages including an index, chapter notes, postscripts, epilogue and text.     Thompson, Ruth Plumly:  The Giant Horse of Oz.  Chicago: The Reilly & Lee Co, circa 1941. Later reprint. Fine in its original decorated orange cloth covered boards with black text on the spine and with a printed paper label on the front board which has only a tiny bit of rubbing to its upper edge. An octavo of 9 by 6 5/8 inches with a 1/3 inch closed tear to the cloth at the heel of the spine and very light rubbing to the cloth at the upper corners of the spine and over the tips of the boards. In a very good+, unclipped ($1.75 price is lined out) dust jacket with small chips and rubbing to the ends of the spine area, a one inch closed tear to the lower edge of the front panel, minor rubbing to the edges of the front panel and light rubbing to the fold to the front flap. 283 pages of text and illustrated with black and white, line art full pages and numerous black and white vignettes by John R. Neill. With 34 Oz Books listed on the rear flap of the dust jacket, ending with Scalawagons of Oz,which was first printed in 1941.     Thompson, Ruth Plumly:  Grampa in Oz.  Chicago: The Reilly & Lee Co., (1924). First Edition, First Printing. Very good in its original brick red cloth covered boards with black text on the spine and with a printed, color paper label on the front board. An octavo of 9 by 6 5/8 inches with a mild crease to the cloth down the center of the spine and with very light wear and rubbing to the cloth at the head and heel of the spine and over the tips of the boards. Insect predation has occurred in the margins of 187/188; 189 through 202 and to the ads at the rear of the book (see below). The front hinge is beginning to loosen, the rear hinge is tight as are both joints. The "This book belongs to" page is free of any names or dates. As pointed out by Paul R. Bienvenue in his wonderful bibliography: The Book Collector's Guide to L. Frank Baum & Oz, this is the only title in the Oz series which does not have a frontispiece plate. 271 pages of text followed by a list of The Famous Oz Books which is followed by three pages of ads from the publisher. Oddly, a book worm has managed to worm his way through these advertising pages as well as small bit of nibbling of the rear end sheet all without damage to the any text. Illustrated with 12 color plates and numerous black and white vignettes throughout the text all by John R. Neill. The page number 171 is in perfect type confirming that this is one of the first printings of this title. Subsequent printings had damaged type. (Bienvenue, p.105)

Very good in its original blue-green cloth covered boards with black text on the spine and a printed, color paper label on the front board. An octavo of 9 by 6 1/2 inches with a 1/4 inch "v" shaped chip from the fore edge of the printed paper label on the front board; predation by silverfish of the starch from the front edge of the spine and the fore edge of the front board; a 1/2 inch closed tear to the cloth on the rear board; and the rear hinge has been reinforced. The "This Book belongs to" page has been filled in with pencil by a young prior owner. In a very good+, unclipped dust jacket with 1/4 inch chips from both ends of the spine area and very small chips to the fore corners of the panels over the tips of the boards and with several spots of very light rubbing to the front panel. This copy conforms to Binding A as per Paul R. Bienvenue's incredibly well document and researched bibliography: The Collector's Guide to L. Frank Baum & Oz. Also as pointed out by Bienvenue, it was only Binding A which had a dust jacket. 303 pages of text and illustrated throughout with black and white, line art vignettes by Dick Martin.     Baum, L. Frank:  The Patchwork Girl Of Oz.  Chicago: The Reilly & Britton Co., (1913). First Edition, First Printing, First State. Very good in light green cloth covered boards with dark green text on the spine and the outline of Woozy character embellished in red on the spine. The front board is decorated in dark green and red with red and green text spelling out the title and author's name. An octavo of 9 by 6 3/4 inches with printed, color end sheets conforming to Binding A as defined in Paul Bienvenue's The Book Collector's Guide to L. Frank Baum p.52. The cloth and the head and heel of the spine is a bit rubbed and the backstrip is tanned. Both boards are slightly soiled. There is a 1/2 inch long area at the fore edge of the front board which has been chewed exposing the underlying board. Both hinges are holding, but starting. The ownership page has a dated (1916) gift inscription. This copy is a first state of the first edition as evidenced by the large red "C" in chapter on page 35 overlying the text on the page and the first page of ads on page [343] begins: "You will be glad to know...". Without its issued dust jacket. 341 pages followed by a blank verso and six pages of ads from the publisher describing early Oz titles.     Baum, L. Frank:  The Road To Oz.  Chicago: The Reilly & Britton Co., (1909). First Edition, First Printing, Binding B. Very good in light green cloth covered boards with black text on the spine and the outline of an animal character on the spine. The front board is decorated in dark green, light brown and red and has red text spelling out the title. An octavo of 9 by 6 5/8 inches with printed end sheets in black, white and red and conforming to Binding B with large and small capital letters in the spelling of the publisher on the spine (as noted in Paul Bienvenue's The Book Collector's Guide to L. Frank Baum p.42). There are two 1/8 inch holes in the cloth at the head and heel the spine and with light rubbing with the entire backstrip slightly tanned, both hinges have cracked, but has been professionally reinforced with clear, archival tape. The ownership page has a dated (1916) gift inscription. Coinciding with the first printing, binding B the pages of the text block tinted light blue, salmon, and tan. The words "Toto on" appearing on page 34, line 4 shows worn type as is page number 121 and the complete absence of a page number and caption on page 129. Without its issued dust jacket. 261 pages followed by a blank verso and two pages of ads from the publisher. Illustrated throughout from black and white engravings by John R. Neill.
