Fine in 1/4 burnt orange cloth and paper covered boards with gilt text stamping on the spine. A small octavo of 8 by 5 1/4 inches with map end sheets. In a very good+, unclipped dust jacket with light rubbing and light wear to the ends of the spine area and a 1/4" by 1 1/2 inch chip from the lower edge of the front panel. 372 pages of text and reproductions of contemporary art. The second volume in The American Procession Series.

In a very good+ dust jacket with the price clipped from the front flap and with some flecking of the colors at the ends of the spine area but no chipping. The 6th volume in the American Procession Series. 527 pages including an index, bibliography, text and a section of photographs. (Adams-Herd 2004)

Fine in light brown cloth covered boards with yellow and light gray text on the spine. An octavo of 9 by 6 inches with printed end sheets. In a very good+, unclipped dust jacket with light rubbing at the upper edge of the spine area and in spots on the front panel. The fold-out map is tipped in at rear of book just before the index. It is in fine, undamaged condition. 282 pages including an index, chapter notes and text. Illustrated with the map noted above and two sections of plates from black and white photographs.

  • Click on Image to expandSandoz, Mari:  Crazy Horse The Strange Man of The Oglalas.  New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1942. First Edition, First Printing. Near fine in tan cloth covered boards with red and blue decorations on the spine and front board. An octavo measuring 8 1/2" by 5 1/2" with the cloth in the gutter of the front joint foxed due to a reaction with the glue used in the production of the book. The front end paper shows similar foxing in the hinge areas due to the same issue. There are no ownership marks, labels or book plates. In a very good- price clipped dust jacket with very shallow chipping across the upper and lower edges of the spine area and nicks at the fore corners of the panels and a a 3/4" deep by 1 1/4" long chip at the lower edge of the front panel and with the rear panel slightly soiled. 428 pages with the fold-out map at the front of the book.

Fine in ivory colored linen covered boards with a hint of dust staining to the top edge. In a very near fine dust jacket with the price intact on the front flap but with the spine area slightly faded. "A novel based on the lives of John Jackson Cozad and Robert Herri." 333 pages of text.

Very good+ in light gray cloth covered boards with dark red text on the spine without the typical tanning to the end pages. A small octavo of 8 by 5 1/4 inches with a 1/8" closed tear to the cloth at the head of the spine and with light wear and rubbing to the both the head and heel of the spine. The contents are clean and bright. In a very good+, unclipped dust jacket with spine area faded with a crease down its middle, a chip of 1" wide by 1/4" deep at the lower edge of the front panel and nicks to the fore corners of the front panel. A novel covering the three generations of the Stone family from 1866. One of the more un-common early titles by Sandoz. A nice copy in its fragile dust jacket with no prior ownership marks, names, dates or notations.
